SAE J 1401 specifies the performance tests and all the requirements flexible hoses for hydraulic brakes (usually called brake hoses) used in the hydraulic braking system of a road vehicle. The specification also specifies the methods used for identification of the hose manufacturer that time ago required the insert of a coloured yarn in weaving inside the hose for an easy identification of the manufacturer.
The last revision dtd. 5th February 2013, reports that The Automotive Brake and Steering Hose Committee has determined that the identification yarn is not necessary and it is optional : information can be printed on the hose.
The flexible tubes with which Unigom brake hoses are assemblied are actually made according to the rules reporting the presence of the coloured yarn.
Our brake hoses are guaranteed by rigorous tests of preassure reaching 120 bar for a duration from 10 to 15 seconds .
Combustion preassure of the hose is ( destructive test ) is more than 900 Bar.
